New Mother to Expecting Mother

On Thursday, I had a meeting with a new client who had just had a baby boy name Sean. He is 8 weeks old and so cute! Since we met at her house, it gave me a good sneek peek at all of her baby items she has that I've been stressing over. These are the notes I scribbled down between my financial planning notes for her:
1) buy a stroller that the baby can lay completely flat in- ( yes, yes, yes, this confirms my love of the Bugaboo Cameleon with the bassinet)
2) buy the little shirts that are open in the front and tie together, for when the babys belly button thingy is still attatched . Where the heck do I find these??
3) with those shirts, make sure they have the mitten cuffs in case the baby likes to scratch himself with their uncut fingernails
4) a gym is a good place to put a baby to entertain themselves, even a newborn
5) the swing is a good place, but he hasn't used the chair yet
I loved hearing all of her tips, it really is a wonderful thing to bond over, this baby business!!

Finding my diaper bag!

Evan asked me what I want for my birthday next month, and I told him I wanted him to give me the perfect diaper baby bag- now to find one! After work yesterday, I headed out to the mall on my search.
First, I stopped by Kate Spade, and looked at this one ( in black). I really liked this bag because it looks like a purse but has all the functionality of a diaper bag. I'm just not sure if black will go with everything, or if my diaper bag should go with everything?

I also went online and looked at Vera Bradley's selections, which I also liked. The Vera Bradley bags are less, so I'm thinking maybe I can get two bags, the black one I can wear with black, and the then when I'm wearing brown or lighter colors, I can use the brown and green one.

I also went into the Coach store and looked at these: ( in black)

I'm not too sure about the Coach. I loved the functionality, all the pockets and the long strap, but I'm not too sure if I like the new "C's" they are using on this pattern. I actually prefer the Coach bags that don't have "C's" all over them.
That's what I have so far...what do you think?

Overwhelmed

panic. i spend most of my day at work not even thinking baby. the second i walk into the door, ( ok not the second, i spend my first moments getting dinner done and eaten), i'm online reading my favorite baby blogs. i see great info. on these websites. today i read about the fuzzibunz cloth diapers. i'm already sold on trying the cloth diaper route back when i read about gdiapers. now, there is more product out there to research and see which cloth diaper route i want to go...so overwhelming!
not to mention, my current obsession with finding the perfect baby stroller. i drive the ultimate driving machine, my baby stroller needs to be the ultimate stroller machine. but, when will i use my stroller? do i want a travel system? do i need a jogging stroller? would i really use the bassinet on the bugaboo that i love? omg, the stress.
not to mention the million other baby things to buy/research. and oh yea actually reading the baby books...will i ever get this all done. am i superwoman?

Alas!

I just thought about this. Our room is plenty big for a crib without being cramped at all. Why don't I just put the baby's crib in our room to start instead of having a bassinet and a crib that isn't being used? That way when the baby is ready to be in his own room, he will already be familiar and comfortable with his crib, it will just be a change of room.
Genius!

Now, to find the perfect crib?!

Birthday

Evan has been very hard to shop for this year. Evan is an avid fisherman so usually I can find hime something fishing related for gifts- in the past it's been Costa sunglasses or Columbia fishing gear. This year, I thought this would be perfect!

Oregon

Last week, Evan and I made the long, but worth it, journey to Oregon, for my good friend Alyson's wedding. It was AMAZING! Here is a pic from the wedding...more to come with a full recap of our week!

Eclipse

Yesterday when Evan and I were gmail chatting, I excitedly suggested that we go to the midnight showing of Twilight Eclipse. To my great suprise, Evan wrote back "Ok!" , his agreement was based on his readings that this is apparently the best movie so far in the series and has the most "action" scenes. So my sweet hubbie picked us up some tickets and we were all set for the midnight showing.
Well, then midnight actually came around and in my excitement I had forgotten that I haven't been up that late since I've been pregnant and there is a reason!!
Luckily, the theater is next door and once we arrived and realized we'd probably have horrible seats due to it being open since 9pm, I happily exchanged our tickets for a readmit pass so we can come back a different day. Hopefully a nice matinee show that is not filled with tweenie twilight fans
:)
